Statewide IT Asset Inventory

Scope
The State IT Planning Office is facilitating a Statewide IT Asset Inventory for government bodies pursuant to Proviso 89.126 (GP Information Technology Inventory). Collaboration occurred between IT Planning and the Statewide IT Asset Inventory Sub-Committee, which is comprised of agency IT directors, to establish the criteria and timeline for this initiative. Inventory data will be collected in phases and the scope for the initial phase includes specific information pertaining to routers, switches, servers and storage devices. Data elements and timelines for additional phases will be communicated at a later date.

Benefits
While submitting a statewide IT asset inventory is required to satisfy this Proviso, it also satisfies a tremendous need for South Carolina’s renewed State IT Strategic planning effort, which began earlier this year. It is the intent of the State IT Planning Office to continue building, at no cost to you, the IT asset inventory application. Our goal is to create a useful tool for your organization that also provides valuable input for South Carolina’s continued State IT Strategic Planning effort. It is the goal of the State IT Planning Office to use the information gathered from this inventory to identify and foster the growth of centers of excellence and collaborative opportunities within South Carolina.
